Sometimes we look at things too much from one perspective, while neglecting the other perspectives.
There is more than one way to approach any problem, just like there is more than one way to approach life.
Sometimes the right thing to do is to ask for a second opinion, or to try something new. Just because you have done a task a certain way for the most of your life, does not mean that that certain method is the best method. You will be surprised at the alternative methods that are available to approach the problem.
Variety is the spice of life, thus you will never know if an event is a crisis or an opportunity. What may seem to be a crisis may end up being an opportunity, just like how an opportunity today may wind up being a crisis later.
The solution is not to think too much and go with the flow. There is some element of crossing the river by feeling the stones, ala Deng Xiaoping style. There is also some foresight involved, although it can only be developed with more life experiences.
To sum up, the strategies to cope with change and problems is to:
- Recognise other perspectives/approaches towards the problem
- Do not think too much, go with the flow
- Rely on your foresight/sixth sense
